Life is simple. We arrive alone and depart solo. In between are humanity's man-made complications.
I started out working on this oversized canvas with a grand plan. It was going to be a modern rendition of the 99 names of Allah with a sprinkle of golden nuqtas (dots) and a confetti of colourful tashkeelat (accents).
After painting the “Allah” I realized that is all my blank canvas needed - no sprinkles, no confetti, no complications. All we need is Allah – the perfection, elegance and simplicity that comes with it – both in life and art.
